Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQ offers a helpful selection of answers to commonly asked questions. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact us for more help.

Q) Do you need to be experienced to ride here?

A) No! That’s what we’re here for. Our experienced instructors will look after you and teach you everything you need to know to be safe and secure on the horses. Likewise though, we welcome intermediate and experienced riders.

Q) What clothes should I wear?

Shoes or boots with a slight heel is a must; sorry no trainers or flat shoes are permitted. Jodhpurs are the most comfortable but soft jogging bottoms or thick leggings will be fine to start off with. Of course, a riding hat is a must!

Q) Can I bring friends/family to watch?

A) Of course you can! We have a viewing gallery beside the indoor school where friends and family can watch your lesson.

Q) I don’t have a hat or any other equipment – please can I borrow from you?

A) We have a supply of hats on site that you can borrow at no extra cost should you require. Please arrive a few minutes earlier for your lesson so that we can find the one that fits you best.

Q) I’ve booked a lesson and now I can’t make it, how much notice do you require and how would you prefer I let you know?

A) We would prefer as much notice as possible as someone else may be interested in taking your place. We recognise that sometimes unavoidable circumstances can occur. If you could phone us as soon as you can that would be much appreciated by all. Please do not email us with cancellations as the email isn't monitored at all time.

Q) Can I give treats to the horses?

A) The horses work hard and appreciate a treat as a reward but we obviously don’t want to spoil them and encourage vices such as biting.

If you would like to bring a treat please do so but ask before you feed them please. Your horse may be on a special diet and not able to receive the reward you have brought.
